Ana Brandt has been a professional photographer for over 23 years and has led photography education online for over `4. She has taught in 35 countries and continues to teach worldwide and in person.

In 2020 Ana Brandt launched The Baby Academy in person four day intensive workshops. These workshops were designed to provide intensive in person training to newborn photographers.

For the past few years, Ana has been teaching Baby Clinics. Baby Clinics are 4 hour clinics designed to go over the basic requirements for newborn photography, such as swaddling and learning how to pose in props and beanbags.

Ana has single handily trained over 1000 students in her four hour Baby Clinics.  Ana has also trained thousands of students all over the world in her single day trainings and masterclasses. Up until this point, students have been receiving physical certificates for completion of these training classes.

Education and training is more important than ever. With the worldwide spread of Covid, best practices have become more crucial than ever. Clients and parents of newborns are seeking to find qualified, certified photographers that they can trust.

Our certification program is verified using an online system in which students must complete the following:

• Best Practices Exam

• Newborn Safety Exam

• Videos of the photographer providing a newborn session.

• Client testimonials.

• Peer testimonials

• Videos of their working space.

• Verification of Insurance, policies and contracts

• and more.

The purpose of the certification is to verify the identity of the photographer, their working environment, their business practices and handing of newborn babies to ensure that we can stand behind the work that they are doing in this Industry. While many certifications or awards may be based on the imagery, our certification program looks at the business as a whole, the individual as a person and the business they are building in their community.

The certification once achieved is kept and verified. There may be more advanced certification options available. Once the certification is available, there is a yearly check in that is included in the fee. We simply check in to each student to make sure they are still in business and upholding best practices during each year.

A certification can be revoked only if we feel or receive evidence that proper procedures and business practices are not being achieved by the photographer. These best practices are outline in your certification requirements.
